Slug doesn't count towards overheal, Monster Tooth and Medkit are garbage, and standing still for Fungus is not safe. Pretty much the only consistent healing in this game is leeching seed and harvester scythe. And you'll need a lot of seeds or a lot of crit in order for that to work well either.
